Anxiety is a common problem in today’s society and is characterized by over-worry or on-going sense of worry about all kinds of things. Some people feel that they can never relax.

Anxiety is characterized by over-worry that effects various aspects of one’s life and body. Anxiety can interfere with work or school performance, with the ability to experience pleasure in those activities, with memory and concentration, and with life satisfaction.
Generalized anxiety is characterized by worry that is not specific to a situation but by a feeling of uneasiness in a variety of situations. There are also specific anxiety concerns, which may include social anxiety (over-worry about participating in social situations or about possible anticipated embarrassment in social situations) or separation anxiety (fear of being separated from family members).
Therapy for anxiety is focused on recognizing and acknowledging the anxiety and situations that trigger or exacerbate the feeling. We work to identify skills that can help to minimize the anxiety symptoms.
